Growing up...

I'm a "Florida Cracker" born and raised. I grew up on a farm in Port Orange with horses, cows, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs, cats, an iquana, a mynah bird and even a woolly monkey. I drove my Mom crazy because I was always dragging home some lost, abandoned or injured animal. I always went for the runts, ill tempered, sad and/or rough looking ones. If it was an animal I rescued it. Much to my Mom's dismay as I drug home a few snakes or frogs in my time!

All I ever wanted to do was be outside with the animals. Especially the horses. I hated the indoors. I never understood why anyone would want to sit inside and watch tv. I'd be out before dawn getting ready to go ride and be heading out the drive at day break. The only thing that chased me in was the sun going down in the evening.

My work...

I was a Veterinary Technician for 12 years for clinics that cared for large and small animals. I worked here with local vets and did internships in Georgia including a year at an animal emergency clinic.

I then started a pet sitting service that I did for 10 years. I cared for everything from frogs to horses. Yes Mom, there's the frogs again! I had my pet sitting service all through the 90's.

I then attended school and became a Certified Animal Control Officer. I worked in animal control for 3 years.

In 2005 I opened Peace At Last Farm & Feed.

All through the years I rode, showed, worked with and trained horses. When I finally settled with a name it became Natural Advantage Horse Training.

What this means for you....

I bring years of experience to the table with all kinds of animals I've spent my life caring for.  I love to keep current on things. I research and find out the latest in nutrition and health. I'm subscribed to a multitude of news letters and pass on information to my customers.

I'm always here to answer your questions and give helpful advice. I think knowledge is very important and I constantly strive to gain more every day. Life lessons are extremely important too. I've had a lot of four legged teachers over the years that have taught me so much. It is that knowledge that I love sharing with people. It leads to happy lives for both the owners and their animals.
